The first step in the process to restore the shutters was to create an inventory to determine how many shutters of each type survived.  After the inventory was taken it was discovered that at least one of each type of shutter survived, including many from the second floor.  Five shutter types were found in addition to the second floor shutters, including shutters for the first floor main block, the first floor of the wings, the drawing room windows, the second floor venetian doorway and the sidelights that flank the second floor venetian doorway.
