Additional evidence was also found on the wall that revealed the size of the dresser’s shelves.   When the plaster was removed, much of the eastern wall was found to be coated with whitewash.  However, a large patch of brick was left exposed on the southern end.  In the past, when the Restoration Team had noticed these patches of exposed brick, it indicated that something had been installed against the wall that prevented it from being whitewashed.  In this case it was determined the exposed patch not only revealed the size and location of the shelves, but also appeared to indicate that the shelves had been mounted to a solid wooden surface.

Because the highlighted section of brickwork was not whitewashed, it provided the size of the "ceiled" portion of the shelves.
