Because none of the ca. 1797 windows or window frames survived, the Restoration Team based their design on surviving Madison-era trim in the Mansion.  Since the interior door and window trim from the same construction period is almost always identical, the surviving ca. 1797 door architraves were excellent models for the recreated interior window trim.
