Since composition makers produced large numbers of the same ornaments, many different houses contain identical ornaments.  Because of this fact, the Restoration Team wanted to use an exact replica of an original Andrews ornament found at Arlington House.  To create a copy of the ornament, the Restoration Team contacted Gold Leaf Studio in Washington, DC and contracted them to create a mold from one of the surviving oval ornaments at Arlington House.  After they had made the mold, Gold Leaf Studio then cast about 200 of the ornaments for the Drawing Room’s chair rail out of composition.
