After the trigylphs were carved into the chair rail, the composition ornaments were installed.  To install the ornaments, hide glue was first applied to the recessed holes that had been routered into the chair rail's frieze.  After five minutes, after the hide glue had set enough to have become sticky but not completely dry, the composition ornament was installed on the chair rail.
