Specifically, she found that the first layer of paint on the corner bead was a dark yellowish distemper paint.  After consulting with historic interior decorating specialists and curators, it was determined that it would have been very unusual for the corner bead to have been painted a different color than both the walls and the architectural trim.  This meant that the walls were almost certainly painted the same color as the corner bead.
