While no evidence of ca. 1764 wallpaper was found, an incredibly rare sample of 18th-century wall painting was discovered in one of the upstairs bedrooms.  The wall painting was uncovered in July of 2004 when a small fragment was found on a surviving section of ca. 1764 plaster in the Northeastern bedchamber.  After looking at the fragment, it was discovered that even more of the wall painting survived but it was buried under a layer of ca. 1901 plaster. Because of the fragile nature of the early plaster, a paint conservator was called in to carefully expose the painted surface.
