The second source used by the Restoration Team for the Parlor's virtual restoration were trim details collected from other mid-18th century houses in Virginia's Piedmont region. Because these buildings came out of the same traditions that had produced the ca. 1764 Montpelier, it was possible to find examples of interior woodwork that provided important clues to the appearance of the Parlor's trim.
