Since each of the relocated Madison-era pieces would need to be returned to their original locations during the restoration, the Restoration Team carefully identified and labeled all of the reused Madison-era elements before the initial deconstruction phase of the restoration started. After the elements were labeled, they were then carefully removed and placed into storage until they could be repaired and reinstalled.
