After placing all of these pieces of evidence into a single drawing, the Restoration Team was able start developing the final design for the stair’s structural elements.  But what about the stair’s railing, balusters and newel posts?  Because this would be one of the most visible and important parts of the stair and successfully recreating these elements was important to the success of the Restoration as a whole.  But how could the Restoration Team reconstruct an element without any surviving physical evidence?
